A screening of two episodes from acclaimed filmmaker Hirokazu Koreeda's Netflix series The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House, which follows two friends chasing their dreams in Kyoto through culture, community and food. Afterward, renowned food stylist Nami Iijima shares behind-the-scenes insight into the role food plays on screen and how a plate can carry emotion and character. Guests then enjoy a tasting of her handcrafted onigiri rice balls, the same ones she prepares on set, inspired by the Japanese tradition of makanai staff meals. Doors open at 12:30 PM.
