Nisei Week Japanese Festival 2026

Little Tokyo's signature celebration of Japanese and Japanese American culture returns for nine days across Downtown LA's historic Japanese district. One of the longest-running ethnic festivals in the United States, Nisei Week fills the neighborhood with food, games, live music, taiko drumming, traditional dance and cultural exhibits. The Grand Parade rolls down First Street on Sunday, August 16 at 4:00 PM. JAPAN HOUSE Los Angeles takes part this year with a festival booth. Most street programming is free and open to the public, with individual ticketed events running throughout the nine days, so check the official calendar before you go.
