The Ten That Mattered

1

MrBeast's $1 Million Grocery Store

Oct 4202 days in one storeGreenville, NC

Why it mattersBy MrBeast's own count, it is the most-viewed video he has ever posted in its first 24 hours.

MrBeast's Eat Everything In A Grocery Store, Win $1,000,000

WatchYouTubeChannel

Four contestants lived inside a grocery store in Greenville, North Carolina, for 202 days and had to eat through roughly 4.2 million calories of stock to split $1 million. Wasted food came off the prize: 6,614 calories of it. Juan Garcia, Jackson Smith, Reyhan Dzeko and Eldin Dzeko also left with cars and jewelry, and Smith proposed to his fiancee inside the store (WECT).

BroBible reported more than 98 million views in under 48 hours. His follow-up on Oct 18, Lose 150 Lbs Together, Win $250,000, tracked an engaged couple through 163 days of training before their wedding.

The number worth knowingSince August, YouTube counts a long-form view from the first frame instead of after a viewer sticks around. Tubefilter notes this video's total may be partly inflated by the change, so records set this fall are not directly comparable to older ones.
2

Airrack Hid in MrBeast's Store

Oct 4Same setGreenville, NC

Why it mattersWatch it right after pick one: it is the same challenge, seen by someone who was not supposed to be there.

Airrack's I Hid In MrBeast's Grocery Store

WatchYouTubeChannel

Airrack hid on the set of MrBeast's grocery store challenge while the contestants ate their way through the shelves (Tubefilter). Both videos went up the same day.

Tubefilter's weekly branded-video chart counted 16.8 million views, third on its list.

3

Logan Paul Quit Pokémon. Briefly.

Oct 10Live opening Oct 296 p.m. ET

Why it mattersThe title says he is done. Within days he announced his biggest card stunt yet.

Logan Paul's I'm Officially Done With Pokemon vlog

WatchYouTubeChannel

Days after the vlog, Paul was posting on X about $400,000 in sealed boxes and $800,000 in unpeeled sheets. Men's Journal reports he will open all of it live on YouTube on Oct 29 at 6 p.m. ET: two 2002 Legendary Collection boxes and two 1996 CoroCoro sheets, chasing a PSA 10 Pikachu he says could be worth over $5 million.

It caps his year in cards: a Pikachu Illustrator that sold for $16.5 million at Goldin in February, then a July live peel that graded PSA 9 and PSA 8, not the 10 he wanted.

4

Lexi Rivera's Theme Park Suites

Oct 4Theme park hotelsTravel

Why it mattersThe most useful video on this list if you are planning a theme park trip.

Lexi Rivera's I Stayed in The Best Room At Every Theme Park!

Dhar Mann Studios' Controlling Mom FORCES DAUGHTER To Be Popular, featuring Gia Rose

WatchYouTubeChannel

Dhar Mann Studios works out of a 125,000-square-foot production facility in Burbank, and its October slate is the most consistent scripted output of any channel we track. Our pick is Controlling Mom FORCES DAUGHTER To Be Popular, featuring Gia Rose: setup, turn and lesson, the format at its tightest.

6

Smosh Made a Dinosaur Music Video

Oct 17Fred DartsPlus a BTS cut

Why it mattersAn LA sketch studio putting real production money into a song about dinosaurs.

Smosh's Bring 'Em Back (We Want Dinos) official music video by Fred Darts

7

Why it mattersThe best answer this month to a question nobody thinks to ask: how does any of this reach you?

Veritasium's The Absurd Engineering Behind the Internet

WatchYouTubeChannel

Also from the Veritasium teamElectrify, the channel's majority investor, launched a new channel called InGenius on Sept 30, covering business and geopolitics. Veritasium's Oct 1 upload, We're trying something new..., landed the next day. We could not confirm the two are linked.

10

Dude Perfect's Real-Life Rocket League

Oct 3Only upload so farSports

Why it mattersThe cleanest idea on the list: a video game, rebuilt at full scale.

Dude Perfect's Rocket League in Real Life

WatchYouTubeChannel

Dude Perfect's only October upload so far takes the car-soccer video game into the real world. It is a new video, not the crew's 2018 version of the same idea.

The LA Creator Map, Corrected

  • In LA: Dhar Mann Studios in Burbank, the area's largest creator employer. Smosh, in its new Los Angeles studio. The Stokes Twins, whose Netflix series is set for 2027.
  • Not LA: MrBeast is in Greenville, North Carolina. Logan Paul has lived in Puerto Rico since 2021. Dude Perfect is in Frisco, Texas. Veritasium's Derek Muller moved to Portugal in 2025.
  • Everybody files this one wrong: Brent Rivera lives in Huntington Beach. That is Orange County, not LA County.
  • The industry came to town: CreatorIQ Connect was at The Ebell of Los Angeles on Oct 13, and the Social Commerce Festival took over the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica on Oct 17.

The Business Underneath

  • Beast Industries is now valued around $5 billion with more than 1,000 employees, per Fortune (Oct 21, citing PitchBook). A MrBeast-linked company also cleared trademark hurdles on Oct 6 for MRBEAST FINANCIAL, covering banking and crypto. No product has launched.
  • Creators are a small business now, officially. On Oct 16 the SBA classified creator businesses under the same industry code as film and video production, which opens the door to loans and grants (Tubefilter).
  • YouTube is the top news source in America in a Syracuse University survey released Oct 9: 16.5 percent, just ahead of TV at 16.1.

Frequently Asked Questions

What was the biggest YouTube video of October 2026?

MrBeast's Eat Everything In A Grocery Store, Win $1,000,000, posted Oct 4. MrBeast called it his most-viewed video ever in its first 24 hours, and BroBible reported more than 98 million views in under 48 hours. Four contestants spent 202 days inside a grocery store in Greenville, North Carolina, to split $1 million.

Where was the MrBeast grocery store challenge filmed?

In Greenville, North Carolina, where MrBeast's company is based. It was not filmed in Los Angeles. Airrack's companion video, I Hid In MrBeast's Grocery Store, was shot on the same set.

Did Logan Paul quit Pokémon?

Not for long. His Oct 10 vlog is titled I'm Officially Done With Pokémon, but within days he announced a $1.2 million live opening of sealed boxes and 1996 CoroCoro sheets on YouTube, set for Oct 29 at 6 p.m. ET, per Men's Journal.

Which big YouTubers are based in Los Angeles?

Of the channels we track, Dhar Mann Studios (Burbank), Smosh and the Stokes Twins are verifiably LA-based. MrBeast is in North Carolina, Logan Paul in Puerto Rico, Dude Perfect in Texas, and Veritasium's Derek Muller moved to Portugal in 2025. Brent Rivera lives in Huntington Beach, which is Orange County.

How many videos did the biggest YouTube channels post in October 2026?

Across the 26 major channels we track, 62 uploads through Oct 19. SSundee posted the most with 13, then Markiplier with 9. Nine channels had posted nothing yet, including Mark Rober, IShowSpeed, Jake Paul and Ryan Trahan. We update the count every week until Oct 31.

The Verdict

Watch MrBeast, then Airrack, back to back. Same store, same day, two very different videos.

Mark Oct 29 for Logan Paul. The quit was a bit. The $1.2 million live opening is the real event.

And for something made here, take Dhar Mann Studios or Smosh. Both are LA studios having a busy month.
