There's a new ride on LA streets, and you'll spot it by the color. Green SM, the all-electric ride-hailing service founded in Vietnam in 2023, officially launched in Los Angeles on October 13, 2026, at The Majestic Downtown. LA is the company's first US city, its ninth market worldwide, and the home base for everything it builds in America next. Here's the brand in seven points, plus the launch deal worth grabbing.

1. Every ride is electric. No exceptions.
Most ride apps offer a greener car as one option on the menu. Green SM doesn't have a menu. There's no gas tier and nothing to pick at checkout. Book a Green SM and you're riding electric, every single time. All-electric by design, not by option.
2. LA is its first US city
Most global mobility brands start in the US and expand into Asia. Green SM did it in reverse. It grew across Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines, India, Kazakhstan, Denmark and the Netherlands, then picked Los Angeles, one of the most demanding transportation markets in the world, as market number nine and its way into the US.

3. The fleet: all VinFast VF 8 SUVs
The LA fleet is 100% VinFast VF 8, a spacious, modern, all-electric SUV in Green SM's signature cyan. The company owns and manages the fleet itself, so you're not gambling on whatever car shows up: every ride is the same clean, smooth, quiet SUV.

4. The drivers work for Green SM
Unlike most ride apps, Green SM's drivers are company employees, carefully selected and professionally trained before they ever pick up a rider. The company is betting that the person behind the wheel matters as much as the car.
Hoang Thanh Hang, General Manager of Green SM US"The future of electrified transit relies not only on pure EV fleets, but also on top-tier service quality, highly trained and dependable drivers, and genuine dedication to the customer experience."

5. Starting in West LA, three ways to ride
Green SM's service area is currently West LA. Book in the Green SM app, call customer service, or do it the old-school way and flag one down on the street like a classic cab. No app required.

6. Built on the "5 Green Goods"
Everything runs on five promises: Good Cars, Good Rates, Good Drivers, Good Quality and Good Environment. In practice that means clean EVs, transparent pricing, trained drivers, dedicated customer care and zero tailpipe emissions on every trip.

7. Big numbers, and LA is just getting started
Worldwide, Green SM has completed about 850 million trips and cut more than 800,000 tons of CO2 emissions since launch. In Los Angeles, it's building a local team and recruiting and training local drivers as the network grows.
