5 New Projects Coming to Disneyland Resort

Disney used D23 in August 2026 to map out the next era of Disneyland Resort under DisneylandForward, the plan Anaheim approved in May 2024 with a Disney commitment of at least $1.9 billion over 10 years. Only one project has an opening year so far. Here are all five.

1. Avengers Campus. Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure doubles in size with two new rides, both opening in 2028. Avengers Infinity Defense battles King Thanos across Asgard, Wakanda and New York City, and Stark Flight Lab puts guests in two-person gyro-kinetic pods on a giant robot arm.

2. Eastside Parking Hub. A new parking structure and transportation hub with about 6,000 spaces is going up on the east side, with a pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard. Its groundbreaking was held August 24, 2026. No opening date has been announced.

3. Coco Boat Ride. The first-ever Coco ride in a Disney theme park is a boat ride through Miguel's memories of the Land of the Dead, with no height requirement. It is under construction near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier. No opening date has been announced.

4. New Tomorrowland. Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park is being reimagined with new attractions and more open spaces. No opening date has been announced.

5. Avatar Destination. An Avatar destination will transform a portion of the current Hollywood Backlot area at Disney California Adventure. It is in its early stages, and no timeframe has been announced.

Sooner than any of the five: holidays at Disneyland Resort run November 13, 2026 to January 6, 2027, a refreshed "Remember... Dreams Come True" and the original "World of Color" return in February 2027, and the "Magic Happens" parade returns in summer 2027.
