Universal Studios Hollywood officially opened Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, following technical rehearsals that began in late July. Universal describes it as the park's first outdoor high-speed roller coaster and the fastest in the Universal Destinations and Experiences portfolio, reaching up to 72 mph and 3.6 Gs across four launches on a dual-launching, split-ride track of 4,100 feet.

Elements include an inverted dive loop, a twisted pretzel loop and an inverted stall, and the ride vehicles, styled as Dom's Dodge Charger, Han's Mazda RX-7, Brian's Nissan Skyline GT-R and a Toyota Supra, are fully rotational and independently programmed to drift, each with its own audio. The coaster is located on the Upper Lot in a red-brick garage-themed building, with the track running over and under the Starway escalators and passing through a transparent section of the queue.

The minimum height is 51 inches, complimentary lockers and metal detectors are in place before boarding, and a single rider line is available. The ride is included with park admission at 100 Universal City Plaza.
