La La Land In Concert Comes to the Greek Theatre for One Night Only

La La Land In Concert lands at the Greek Theatre on Saturday, August 1, part of the film's 10th anniversary global concert run produced by Hurwitz Concerts. The format is straightforward and effective: the complete feature screens while a full orchestra and jazz band perform Justin Hurwitz's Oscar-winning score live. The detail that separates this from a standard film-with-orchestra night is that the score's famously difficult piano solos are performed live rather than played back, which the producers advertise directly.
Los Angeles gets a single date on a tour that otherwise runs through Kaohsiung, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Tokyo, Braunschweig, Philadelphia and London. Greek Theatre parking sells out in advance and the venue refuses passes bought through Ticketmaster, AXS or StubHub, with JustPark as the only valid seller, though day-of parking is still sold onsite at gate rates. The LADOT DASH Observatory/Los Feliz line at 50 cents, which the venue says departs 10 minutes after the show ends, is the cheapest way in and out. Note that the rideshare pickup lot does not open until 7 p.m., half an hour after doors.
