The LAX/Metro Transit Center has been named one of the World's Most Beautiful Stations of 2026 by Prix Versailles, the Paris-based architecture prize. Announced September 28, 2026, the list names seven stations as equals: Town Hall Station in Melbourne, Lyon Part-Dieu, Colosseo - Fori Imperiali in Rome, Monte Sant'Angelo in Naples, National Museum Station and Western Station in Riyadh, and the LAX/Metro Transit Center in Los Angeles. Three of the seven will receive World Titles at UNESCO headquarters on December 10.

Prix Versailles describes the station, designed by Grimshaw Architects in collaboration with Gruen Associates, as a multimodal platform in a historically car-centric metropolis, with sweeping sculptural canopies and glass ceilings, natural ventilation and awnings that limit its air conditioning, and solar panels that cover about half of the building's interior energy demand. Opened June 6, 2025, the station connects the Metro C and K Lines with 16 bus bays serving Metro and municipal lines, Metro Micro and a bike hub, plus a free LAX shuttle to all terminals about every 10 minutes, 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM daily, until the airport's automated people mover opens.
