Palisades Village Returns as a Symbol of the Neighborhood's Recovery
The open-air center returns after a major restoration, with the Bay Theatre reopening as a Netflix-run cinema.

Eighteen months after the January 2025 Palisades Fire, Palisades Village is set to reopen on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The open-air center largely survived the fire itself, credited to fire-resistant construction and private fire crews, and has since gone through an extensive smoke and ash restoration before welcoming shoppers back. Developer Rick Caruso has framed the reopening as a milestone in the wider community's recovery, calling the returning village a reflection of the neighborhood's strength and resilience.
The center returns with roughly 46 shops and restaurants, nearly 99 percent leased and about a third of them new to the property, alongside returning favorites such as Erewhon, Elyse Walker, Angelini and Blue Ribbon Sushi. The most talked-about return is the Bay Theatre, a legacy Palisades cinema that reopens as a luxury movie house now operated by Netflix, programming first-run titles, classic films and filmmaker discussions.
