Space Shuttle Endeavour Stands in Launch Position at the New Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center
The California Science Center's 200,000-square-foot expansion opens Friday, November 13, 2026, with free general admission.

The California Science Center opens the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 10 a.m. The 200,000-square-foot expansion nearly doubles the museum's exhibit space and puts space shuttle Endeavour upright in vertical launch configuration, paired with real solid rocket boosters and ET-94, the last remaining flight-qualified external tank, for a full stack 185 feet tall. The Science Center calls it the only place in the world to see a complete, authentic space shuttle system.
Three galleries, the Samuel Oschin Shuttle Gallery, the Korean Air Aviation Gallery and the Kent Kresa Space Gallery, hold more than 100 artifacts, including a Hawker Siddeley Harrier T.4 jet, plus 100 new hands-on exhibits. General admission is free, with a $4 per-person reservation service fee waived for members.
