The San Fernando Valley Is Getting Its First-Ever Rose Parade Float
A drive-in-themed float packed with Valley icons rolls down Colorado Boulevard in the 138th Rose Parade on Friday, January 1, 2027.

The San Fernando Valley will have its own float in the Rose Parade for the first time. The San Fernando Valley Rose Parade Organization, a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) powered by My Valley Pass, the team behind 818 Day, is entering the 138th Rose Parade on Friday, January 1, 2027, under the 2027 theme "Welcome." Founder Oscar Urrutia led the push, and donations are tax-deductible and go directly to the float. Built around a drive-in movie theater image, the float is planned to feature Valley icons including the Circus Liquor clown, Bob's Big Boy, CSUN's Matador and Clay Lacy's 1965 Learjet, plus a barbershop quartet singing Bing Crosby's "San Fernando Valley."
