The Smoke House Celebrates 80 Years With a 1950s Hollywood Gala in Burbank
Burbank's old-Hollywood steakhouse closed its doors to the public on October 12 for a red-carpet gala marking eight decades across from Warner Bros. Studios.

The Smoke House marked its 80th anniversary on Monday, October 12, 2026, closing the entire Burbank restaurant to the public for an invitation-only gala with a 1950s Hollywood theme, a red carpet and a step-and-repeat. Longtime patrons, civic leaders, entertainment industry guests and media filled the room to celebrate a restaurant that started in 1946 as a 46-seat spot at the end of World War II and later moved to its current home directly across from Warner Bros. Studios.
It still runs on its longtime motto, “Fine Food at a Fair Price.” The menu is built on the classics it is known for: Garlic Cheese Bread, prime rib, steaks and handcrafted cocktails, served in an Old Hollywood setting that has appeared in La La Land, Fargo, The Office and many more film and television productions.
