The Donut Hole in La Puente Lets You Drive Through a Giant Donut
A 1968 programmatic-architecture landmark where the drive-thru runs between two fiberglass donuts.

The Donut Hole at 15300 Amar Rd in La Puente has operated continuously as a donut shop since it opened in 1968, and the building itself is the attraction. A driveway splits the stucco structure in two, an oversized fiberglass donut sits at each end, and customers drive through the middle to order and pick up.
It's one of Southern California's classic pieces of programmatic architecture, the kind of building shaped like what it sells. It was the second of five Donut Hole locations, the only one designed with donuts in its architecture and the only one that survives intact, and it ranks among the most photographed donut shops in the country, with several film appearances.
