Eileen Gu Goes First Overall in the X Games League's First Winter Draft, Held in Inglewood

The MoonPay X Games League held its first-ever winter draft on September 16 at Cosm Los Angeles in Inglewood's Hollywood Park. More than 100 athletes were approved for draft eligibility, and 40 were selected across five snake-order rounds, with each of the four clubs drafting 10 athletes, five men and five women, including both skiers and snowboarders. Eileen Gu was the first overall pick, going to XC Golden State, the Northern California club led by general manager Jonny Moseley.

Mark McMorris followed at No. 2 to XC New York as the first snowboarder selected. The other clubs are XC Park City and XC Whistler.

Cosm Los Angeles also hosted the league's summer draft in March. The winter season runs three stops, with points building toward a championship decided at the final event: Aspen, Colorado, January 29 to 31, 2027; Calgary, February 19 to 21; and Ruka, Finland, April 9 to 11.
